After several months of lockdown, who doesn't feel like traveling this summer? If you are eager to take a holiday, you are in luck, because the government has lifted many of the restrictions regarding tourism. However, with international travel currently limited, it’s time to turn your next holiday into a fun and safe staycation.
Lots of our habits have changed this year and data suggest that the type of holidays people take have changed as well. National staycations have become the preferred choice for most travellers, and there’s no question why. And when our country has so much to offer, this can be turned into a blessing in disguise; an opportunity to discover
Belfast with a new look.
Titanic Time
Travellers seek unique experiences and
Titanic Hotel Belfast is an experience in itself. There is no place like it in the world. A hotel. A museum. A privileged witness to Belfast's maritime heritage and the city’s development into the cultural hub it is today. So, why not start by visiting, precisely, Titanic Hotel Belfast?
The hotel is located in the former headquarters of Harland & Wolff. The Drawing Offices date from the 1880s and over the following 100 years played an important part in the design of many of the world’s most famous ocean liners. The Drawing Offices and other key heritage rooms are open to the public, providing an opportunity to view the artefacts, restoration works and interior decoration. Please do not hesitate to request the
Art & Heritage Trail map to our Front Desk team.
Titanic Hotel Belfast is right at the heart of the
Titanic Quarter. Get out the front door and walk the slipways, the same ones were Titanic and Olympic were built and launched, and explore a life size plan of Titanic’s upper deck. The positions of the liner’s lifeboats, funnels and benches are placed exactly as they would have been on board the deck of Titanic. The outline of the sister ships illuminates at night and are the perfect space to reflect.
Not far from here you can visit the last remaining White Star Line vessel in the world,
SS Nomadic. Restored to her original 1911 glory and back home in Belfast, a visit to SS Nomadic & Hamilton Dock combines the authentic heritage and atmosphere of this historic ship with the intriguing stories of her passengers and the ups and downs of her dramatic career. SS Nomadic will open to the public on 1st August.
Titanic Belfast is a must for the whole family. Visit the multi-award winning visitor attraction, extending over nine interactive galleries, with multiple dimensions to the exhibition, drawing together special effects, dark rides, full-scale reconstructions and innovative interactive features.
Titanic Belfast will re-open on 1st August.
