https://www.titanichotelbelfast.com/Last Monday 10th September marked the one-year anniversary of the world’s most authentic Titanic Hotel opening its doors in Belfast. The hotel, which is owned by Harcourt Developments and is part of the Harcourt Hospitality Collection Group, celebrated the occasion by organising a host of activities throughout the hotel for guests and staff alike, reflecting on a successful first year of business.
Since opening in 2017, Titanic Hotel Belfast has welcomed over 55,000 overnight guests through its doors, giving an average occupancy rate above 80%. The average room occupancy rate in Belfast for August 2018 was 73% so this is a strong indicator that the hotel is performing well in the city.
Visitors came to the hotel from 85 different countries around the world, curious to find out more about Titanic and the Belfast workers who built the famous ship.
Hotel Manager, Adrian McNally, believes this unrivalled historic appeal has proved attractive to both local and international guests.
“We have a truly unique offering here in Belfast, giving visitors the chance to eat, stay and play in the very spot the Titanic was built. We have welcomed thousands of guests eager to explore the history of the ship and 12 months after opening, still have people visiting the hotel every day to find out more about Harland and Wolff and the Titanic Quarter.”
“Our food and beverage offering have proved to be successful with local diners, too. We have catered for over 95,000 across our Drawing Office Two bar, Wolff Grill restaurant and Heritage banqueting rooms and the exquisite Harland Bar has popped the cork on over 2,000 bottles of champagne.”
“Our seasonal menu continues to delight diners and we look forward to launching our new autumn menu in the coming weeks.”
The hotel has received numerous awards in its first year of operation, including accolades for architecture, design and hospitality, and just last weekend
was crowned the Ulster Tatler Hotel of the Year, which Adrian describes as an early birthday present.
“Being named Ulster Tatler’s Hotel of the Year was a great boost for everyone connected with the hotel. Each of our awards have been very special but to be given this title a few days before our first birthday was the icing on the cake. The award was voted for by a Northern Ireland audience, so it means a lot to be recognised by the local industry.”
“For now we are focusing on maintaining the success of the last year and expanding our offering as the whole of the Titanic Quarter continues to grow and develop. We hope the new Glider route will increase the volume of people passing through the area and want to make Titanic Hotel Belfast their number one place to visit for a stay, or meal or simply a welcoming place to relax.”
Already, plans are afoot to further enhance the hotel’s appeal to tourists. As traditional first year anniversary celebrations involve paper, the hotel recently launched their own self-guided tours. This allows guests and visitors to explore the area using a paper map designed by the hotel and take in all the sights of the Titanic Quarter, including the Visitors Centre, Great Lights, Film Sets, HMS Caroline and Harland and Wolff at their own pace.”
Pat Doherty, Founder and Chairman of Harcourt Developments is pleased with the success Titanic Hotel Belfast has enjoyed during its maiden year and is looking forward to developing a long-term vision for the hotel.
“On behalf of Harcourt Developments, I’d like to congratulate the team at Titanic Hotel Belfast, not just on their recent award wins but for a really positive first year. When we first took on this project, people described it as ambitious, but the team’s hard work has delivered fantastic results.
“We’re very proud of the contribution Titanic Hotel Belfast has made to the wider Titanic Quarter and indeed, the role this area has played in creating a new legacy for the city of Belfast.”
